Batman need very little introduction, I’m fairly sure that there are few if any Comic Book or Action Figure fans out there who haven’t heard of the Bat Man. Batman along with Superman is probably one of the most famous comic book super heroes, the defender of Gotham city he fights crime with the deadly stealth of the bat.
Bruce Wayne swore that he would fight crime and injustice after seeing his parents brutally murdered. By training himself and using his father’s massive fortune he creates the Batman persona for himself. Not having any superpowers of his own he relies on pure skill and ingenuity to crush crime.
Batman features first in 1939 in Detective Comics and has been popular ever since. His character has evolved over the years but still to this day is a popular as ever, even more so with the recent successful films, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Batman Action figures were first introduced in the early 1940’s and over the years Batman has had his likeness made into many many many action figures, in fact it is thought that more different types of Batman Action Figure have been made than any other character!
Early figures were solely based on the comic book depictions of Batman; later figures depict the TV and Movie versions of Batman. Also a range has been created to coincide with the animated series of batman too.
Collecting Batman Action Figures is a very satisfying hobby because there are literally thousands of versions and variations to collect.
